Rivers at Risk Report 2026 (Campaign for National Parks)

48% of rivers in Welsh National Parks are failing to meet a good ecological standard according to Campaign for National Park’s CNP Rivers at Risk Report 2025 The Cleddau flows in and out of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and is just one of those in critical condition.You can read about it here: Cleddau River at Risk

Wales’ State of Natural Resources Report (SoNaRR 2025) 22 January 2026

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has published the first country-level assessment of Welsh terrestrial, freshwater & marine environments 2019-2024. The report calls for urgent, collective action to help save and protect some of Wales’ most important habitats and species. Their findings are grim. Dwr Cymru Welsh Water 5 year investment in the Cleddau catchment

Nutrient Neutrality in Pembrokeshire

Marine Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) and Special Protection Areas (SPAs) are legally protected. In June 2025 NRW issued updated  Conservation Advice and condition assessments for key marine SACs affecting Pembrokeshire. Nutrient Management Plan (NMP)
This Nutrient Management Plan (NMP) has been prepared on behalf of the Afonydd Cleddau Nutrient Management Board (NMB). The main objective of the Board is to identify and deliver actions that achieve the phosphorus conservation target of the riverine Afonydd Cleddau Special Area of Conservation (SAC). House of Lords Nitrogen Pollution Report
A House of Lords report published 24th July 2025 warns that successive Governments have failed to tackle the dangerous health, environmental and economic impacts of nitrogen pollution in England caused mainly by agriculture, sewage, transport and industry. Although specific to England, the same conversation should be happening in Wales. Read the report here.
